jab_blast.mel
Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 4:06AM jab_blast.mel: A tool for automating playblasts to dislay and save with very specific settings.
Workflow: The intended workflow is to save out consistent looking playblasts with naming conventions that are informative to what scene file and camera they were rendered from with one click.
Usage:
- install the script in your maya script directory.
- there are two commands that can be easily mapped to keyboard shortcuts.
- jab_blast 0 will open the setting dialog box where you can edit playblast preferences.
- jab_blast 1 will do the playblast in the currently active viewport. Beware that the viewport has to be bigger then the resolution you are trying to playblast to work properly.
- user data settings have descriptions of their purpose to the right of them in the UI. Everything else is pretty self explanitary.
- Once settings are set an faux xml file is created in your user preferences folder allowing settings to remain persistent between different invocations of Maya.
